Updates

The baby druid is well into level 69, hitting Northrend but been on a short vacation recently. However, her sister Kaly has been melting face and taking names in Naxx. Second run last Monday night, full clear in about 3 1/2 hours and I ended up 3rd or 4th on the DPS meter, depending on who's meter you looked at. Matt was able to attend this time and we had a blast. I'm loving the guild we joined. Fallen has proven to be a success, at least with me.

Kaly's been busy on her pet hunting collection as well. Added a few new pets and got the achievement for them, 50 pets later and she has her own pet skunk that loves the black kitty.

Late Night, Raid Nights

Ahhh, I remember this feeling. Late nights, early mornings, needing coffee to clear the fog from my head. Yup, it's light night raid nights again! Mmmm, how I've missed those! Got to hit Naxx last night with the new guild Matt and I joined over the weekend. And it was a full clear! Yay, the first time I've gotten to see the end of the raid! Wish Matt could have gone too, then it would have been perfect. It was a lot of fun, but the morning after was something I had forgotten. hehe

Warlock Advice

So, I don't think we have anyone currently interested in demo locks, other then me, but I'll post what I know in case.

We all know I <3 my Zili, but why do I love him? Because he does insane things for me...no, not "those" kinds of things...better yet, I should say he does insane things for my dps.

The power behind a demo lock, is your Felguard. Without him, you are nothing but a bad spin off of a mage. With that being said, one of the most important things for a demo lock, is your build. We'll take a look at the changes coming outi n patch 3.1.

This is the build I'm going to try with Kaly: http://ptr.wowhead.com/?talent=IZbGchkAzi0sxuAoE0hV

You'll notice a couple of obvious changes from the orginal talent tree and the new one. First off, there is no longer a talent to reduce your hit cap. What does that mean? Easy, you'll now need the full 17% to be hit capped at level 80. This is no easy feat to accomplish, but with the right gear and a little work it can be done.

Secondly, you'll notice that the talents lower in the demo tree have had their points reduced. This means we need less points in the demo tree and that gives up more to add to the destro tree. I'm very excited about this change. It will now allow me to easily get all the things I want from demo, plus all the great talents to boost my Shadow Bolt.

You may notice, I did not put the points into "Master Summoner". Why? Well, from what I've learned, Zili doesn't die a lot, and I'm not often needing to switch or summon minons while in combat. So, in my opinon, I've decided that I can summon between fights, eat to refill my mana and thus the points would be better spent in "Improved Healthstone". This way the entire, party/raid, will benifit from my healthstones restoring 20% more health. I may learn that this doesn't work, but it'll be trial and error.

Demonic Tatics/Improved Demonic Tatics - This is the heart and soul of why you're a demo lock. Max this out. The wonderous things that this will do for you and your Felguard is well worth it. It works like a domino effect. You get a boost to your crit chance every time your Felguard crits and vise versa.

Mana Feed - I went without this for awhile and was shocked when I finally talented into it, on how much more damage Zili did. Every time I life tap to gain mana, Zili gains 100% of the mana I get. Thus, this allows him to use his "Cleave" ability more often, in turn boosting our "Demonic Tatics" bond as well. Yay, for mana feed!

Soul Link - I personally do NOT use this talent, but I point into it, to allow me to get to the talents associated to it. I found out quickly that allowing Zili to absorb part of my damage...made for a dead Zili, very fast. But it's up to you, try it and see what you think.

Master Conuror - Wow, this is an amazing change. Talent into, no matter what. Gaining a 300% boost your benifits from your firestone is HUGE. Currently, without the patch, I get a 30% increase and this is nice, can't wait to see what 300% does!

Now that we've talked about the key talents...lets talk about...dum, dum, dum...

"METAMORPHOSIS"
So, not only do you get to control a cool demon, you get to BE a cool demon. And when I say cool...you look cool! Just image, a big black/purple winged demon with amazing powers! *Bow before me, tremble in fear!"...ok, sorry about that. Now to the key points of when and how to actually use it. I use this for one of two reasons.

1. My "Oh Shit" button...600% armor boost for those sticky times when you manage to pull aggro off the tank and find yourself staring face to face with a giant baddy!

2. To strike fear into the heart of every instance/raid boss...20% increase in your damage for 30 seconds. Make those raid bosses shudder in your wake.

Ok, so all silliness aside. This is a great ability, not to mention fun. If you're going to go Demo...not skip this talent.

Spell rotation..hmm...find what works for you. My spell rotation..Demonic Empowerment, Curse of Agony, Corruption, then spam Shadowbolt and watch the crits fly. The only change I make to this is replacing my Curse of Agony with Curse of Doom on boss fights. Don't forget to use your trinkets everytime the cooldown is up. It helps to make a macro once you know your spell rotation, then all you have to do is click that button to use those trinkets and cast your DoTs.

Now, in summary. Remember these key points:
1. Demonic Empowerment - Talent it and USE it every time the cooldown is up. 20% attack speed to your Felguard shouldn't be wasted.
2. Fel Armor - Talent into Demonic Aegis and never let your buff go down!!
3. Metamorphosis - Be the scary demon!
4. Hit, hit, hit...get your raid hit cap, you're not talenting into these damage buffs to see "MISS, MISS, MISS"

Well, that's my advice for all you little locklings!! Have fun and happy hunting!

Warlock Gearing Pre-Raid

This is more an entire cloth caster list. But I found it very helpful...even for some healy types. Remember HIT is your best friend! For locks we need to get our hit to 17% unless you took the talent points in the destro tree to lower, then you can get away with 15%. This is very important, otherwise you're waisting mana and time. Every miss = lost DPS!!

Updates on Last Call

The guild side of the game is getting better slowly. After a few officer meetings, thing seem to be looking good with our group. We'll see how this goes. I am stil battling with loosing the "security" of the game. It use to be the place I went to when I needed to get away. The place I went to in order to spend time with Matt when we were apart. I'm slowly loosing this "haven" and that saddens me more then anything else....

Last Call - Shiny Happy Guildies!

So..the xpac came out last week and minus a handful of members, looks like everyone is now exploring this new frozen tundra. Well, most everyone. I am still, as most of you know, holding off on going to the new area, until after I get my lock to the right level.

The expansion has breathed new life into the guild. Our nightly population is back up where it once was. Even though you may be waiting 10 - 20 minutes to get logged into the server!! I attempted to log on Saturday night and was 234th in queue, with a 12 minute wait!! That's a little nuts if you ask me. I installed at 12:13 and was online logged in on the night of release by 12:45. One of the first people on the ship headed over, followed closely by Thor, Flirt and Gaulder! Yay, us!! Ok, so that's not much of an accomplishment..probably means we just don't have much of a life!

We did do Kara on Friday night, though it appears our trek into BC raid areas are giong to slowly start decreasing. With all the new content, people just aren't as interested in returning to dusty, lonely lands of Kara and ZA. I do hope that we can manage to get these in, at least, a few more times before they total become deserted. Its in these raids that we really come together as a guild. That we learn to work together towards a common goal and we have fun doing it. It allows more members to be able to do things at the same time vrs the normal 5 man instances.

Congratulations to all our members on their leveling progress and to our now GROWING population of DeathKnights!! It's good to see people excited again. I can't wait to get us all into some new content and back on track to having fun together. Don't forget to recruit, we are still in need of tanks!

The Christmas season is quickly approaching. If anyone is interested or has any ideas for something the guild can do together, let me know!!

Happy Hunting!!

Release Day!

Well, gotta kill some time.

Decided against my better judgement to attend the midnight release for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King tonight. I am now 55% into download of the first patch. Trying not to think about the horror stories of how many patches there were to download when the last expansion came out or how long it took people to actually get logged on. So instead we'll talk about the crazy people standing in line at the local Gamestop.

So...manager of the store is running around dressed like a murloc, not to mention sounding exactly like one!! For most of you, who don't play the game, you'll have no idea what that is but for the rest it was very funny. The other people in line...not so funny. Spent as long as I could on the phone with Matt, who was also standing in line in Houston (an hour earlier than I was by the way), simply because I was a little out of place. Reason...1. I was only one of two females present...2. These guys were all a little...interesting. But eventually his phone died (mental note to mail him the car charger tomorrow) Anyway.....the conversations going on around me were pretty much based on raiding, guilds, their characters..so ok, maybe it was a little entertaining. And I can say I have offically attended release night. Not that I'm sure that's much to brag about. =)

OH! Patch is done!....And now the patch is installing. boo

Got to gamestop about 11:40, went in got my reciept stamped, went outside (in the freezing cold, with no coat) and waiting until 12:00. I was about half way through the line, so at 12 they started sending people in 2 at a time to get your game, get checked off and send you on your merry way. Not so horribly bad, except...it started pouring rain!!

Yay! Patch is installed!! And I'm in!! Will update more tomorrow!

WotLK - Round 2

Well, finally got everything installed and updated. Hung around to wait for Matt to get his game (haha, I can always say I had, installed it and played it first, he'll love me for that) installed, make his Deathknight and get it in our guild before I had to log and hit the bed. Had work this morning and I'm paying the cost of little sleep...3 1/2 hours to be exact.

So far the game looks great. Am more focused on leveling a lower toon now than actually play in Northrend but it was a pretty cool place, minus the giant bugs that attacked me as soon as I walked out of the town. Ran right back in, found the Inn and logged of (yeah, chicken, lol). Not a safe place for a Holy Priest with no tanky type to follow around. >.<

Anyway, not much else to report at the moment. Will update on the game, if anyones interested, after I actually get to play some!

Last Call - Announcements, Meetings

Congratulations guys, on downing the first 3 bosses in ZA!

It was a rocky start and a pretty rocky ending but all in all, you guys worked great together. It's amazing how much we've improved, how hard people have worked to gear and get better. I am truly impressed!!

I know things have been pretty crazy lately, a little hectic to say the least. The xpac coming out in less that 3 days. That alone has caused everyone to push, trying to get in those last few badges, that last little rep, etc. There are going to be a few changes, actually have to be a few changes, not only for my sanity but also for the sanity of other people in the guild. We will be scheduling an officers meeting for Tues night to make a couple of announcements and slight changes.

I think it has come time for me to offically put Kalyanna on retirement from healing. I'm hitting a point of burnout very quickly. Find myself becoming frustrated and no longer enjoying the game with her. Don't get me wrong, I am willing to pull her into instances in the new xpac when needed and I will level her to 80. I just simply can't keep going on the path I have been. I think this is also playing true for a paticular prot pally in our guild as well...but when and if that announcement needs to be made, it will be at a later time.

Again, Congrats and Happy Hunting!
<3 Kaly
