Last Call - Shiny Happy Guildies!

So..the xpac came out last week and minus a handful of members, looks like everyone is now exploring this new frozen tundra. Well, most everyone. I am still, as most of you know, holding off on going to the new area, until after I get my lock to the right level.

The expansion has breathed new life into the guild. Our nightly population is back up where it once was. Even though you may be waiting 10 - 20 minutes to get logged into the server!! I attempted to log on Saturday night and was 234th in queue, with a 12 minute wait!! That's a little nuts if you ask me. I installed at 12:13 and was online logged in on the night of release by 12:45. One of the first people on the ship headed over, followed closely by Thor, Flirt and Gaulder! Yay, us!! Ok, so that's not much of an accomplishment..probably means we just don't have much of a life!

We did do Kara on Friday night, though it appears our trek into BC raid areas are giong to slowly start decreasing. With all the new content, people just aren't as interested in returning to dusty, lonely lands of Kara and ZA. I do hope that we can manage to get these in, at least, a few more times before they total become deserted. Its in these raids that we really come together as a guild. That we learn to work together towards a common goal and we have fun doing it. It allows more members to be able to do things at the same time vrs the normal 5 man instances.

Congratulations to all our members on their leveling progress and to our now GROWING population of DeathKnights!! It's good to see people excited again. I can't wait to get us all into some new content and back on track to having fun together. Don't forget to recruit, we are still in need of tanks!

The Christmas season is quickly approaching. If anyone is interested or has any ideas for something the guild can do together, let me know!!

Happy Hunting!!

Release Day!

Well, gotta kill some time.

Decided against my better judgement to attend the midnight release for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King tonight. I am now 55% into download of the first patch. Trying not to think about the horror stories of how many patches there were to download when the last expansion came out or how long it took people to actually get logged on. So instead we'll talk about the crazy people standing in line at the local Gamestop.

So...manager of the store is running around dressed like a murloc, not to mention sounding exactly like one!! For most of you, who don't play the game, you'll have no idea what that is but for the rest it was very funny. The other people in line...not so funny. Spent as long as I could on the phone with Matt, who was also standing in line in Houston (an hour earlier than I was by the way), simply because I was a little out of place. Reason...1. I was only one of two females present...2. These guys were all a little...interesting. But eventually his phone died (mental note to mail him the car charger tomorrow) Anyway.....the conversations going on around me were pretty much based on raiding, guilds, their characters..so ok, maybe it was a little entertaining. And I can say I have offically attended release night. Not that I'm sure that's much to brag about. =)

OH! Patch is done!....And now the patch is installing. boo

Got to gamestop about 11:40, went in got my reciept stamped, went outside (in the freezing cold, with no coat) and waiting until 12:00. I was about half way through the line, so at 12 they started sending people in 2 at a time to get your game, get checked off and send you on your merry way. Not so horribly bad, except...it started pouring rain!!

Yay! Patch is installed!! And I'm in!! Will update more tomorrow!

WotLK - Round 2

Well, finally got everything installed and updated. Hung around to wait for Matt to get his game (haha, I can always say I had, installed it and played it first, he'll love me for that) installed, make his Deathknight and get it in our guild before I had to log and hit the bed. Had work this morning and I'm paying the cost of little sleep...3 1/2 hours to be exact.

So far the game looks great. Am more focused on leveling a lower toon now than actually play in Northrend but it was a pretty cool place, minus the giant bugs that attacked me as soon as I walked out of the town. Ran right back in, found the Inn and logged of (yeah, chicken, lol). Not a safe place for a Holy Priest with no tanky type to follow around. >.<

Anyway, not much else to report at the moment. Will update on the game, if anyones interested, after I actually get to play some!

Last Call - Announcements, Meetings

Congratulations guys, on downing the first 3 bosses in ZA!

It was a rocky start and a pretty rocky ending but all in all, you guys worked great together. It's amazing how much we've improved, how hard people have worked to gear and get better. I am truly impressed!!

I know things have been pretty crazy lately, a little hectic to say the least. The xpac coming out in less that 3 days. That alone has caused everyone to push, trying to get in those last few badges, that last little rep, etc. There are going to be a few changes, actually have to be a few changes, not only for my sanity but also for the sanity of other people in the guild. We will be scheduling an officers meeting for Tues night to make a couple of announcements and slight changes.

I think it has come time for me to offically put Kalyanna on retirement from healing. I'm hitting a point of burnout very quickly. Find myself becoming frustrated and no longer enjoying the game with her. Don't get me wrong, I am willing to pull her into instances in the new xpac when needed and I will level her to 80. I just simply can't keep going on the path I have been. I think this is also playing true for a paticular prot pally in our guild as well...but when and if that announcement needs to be made, it will be at a later time.

Again, Congrats and Happy Hunting!

Last Call - Oops we did it again!

Full Kara clear, including Nightbane and Netherspite. That is an accomplishment. Congratulations guys.

ZA? Well, not so well. We started the run almost 2 hours later than scheduled. Once we finally got inside, we had no problem with the trash pulls but wiped several times on the first boss. Ythane has been doing his research and is coming up with a plan that may help us on the next run. Speaking of which, ZA is scheduled again for Sunday afternoon. This seems to be a good day for this run and we will try to keep it up as long as their is interest.

We have less than 2 weeks till the xpac releases!! Yay. I offically joined the ranks of the addicted and pre-purchased my copy and plan to be at the midnight release to pick it up. This means I can get the game, install it and start is downloading the millions of updates while I sleep. We all know it's going to take hours to even be able to log in. So I guess for those of us installing at midnight, we'll be sitting in vent to keep each other company? I know Kyn is picking up at midnight (a full hour behind me, might I add), anyone else planning to have the game that night? We may as well make a party out of it!!

Not much else new to report in the LC world. Grats again to those in Kara last week and those who attempted ZA with us on Sunday. Any brave souls wanting to come back again, we'll see you next weekend!!!

Happy Hunting!

Last Call - What happened?

Well, looks like it's been a long time since I posted. Where to even start.

Looks like people took a "break" for awhile, getting ready for the expansion to come out, a few transfered and a few have come back. LC is on the uprise again and starting to look better.

Congratulations to all the LC members that attended the Kara run on Friday night. I am very excited to say, as a guild, we finally downed Prince. Who would have guessed. We won't mention the fact that Blizzard reduced the HP for all raid bosses which in turn nerfed kara slightly. It was a long night, don't hink we finished until about 2 AM EST, but we did it! So CONGRATULATIONS guys!!!

We have only a couple weeks left before the xpac comes out. I know everyone is getting a little excited and maybe a little afraid. The latest patch definantly showed us a different side of our characters. Some changes we aren't so happy with but it has seemed to put new life back into the guild.

I am very happy to welcome Gaulder back as well!!! We've missed you!!!

Don't forget to post your pics under the gallery page and keep checking the new ingame calendar for our scheduled events. We will no longer be using the group calendar function. See you guys in game soon!!

Happy hunting!

Last Call - Welcome back, raids and hurricanes

So, it's the day before our well anticipated Alpha Kara run and we have a tank and a warlock without power. I am very proud at the progress that each of our members has made. The improvement is amazing. We now have consistant, good DPS and great heals. I am excited to get back in and see if we can actually get past Curator this time!!

Guild has been quiet the past week. With Kyn and Sedge stuck in the hurricane zone with no power, there hasn't been much going on in the guild chat. No tank leaves us all very lonely!

I am very happy to welcome Darkmoon back. After her absense it's nice to have her back with us. I've missed my evil twin and was not the same without her. Even though, Beta team does have the advantage of her sneaky, secret stratagy to down Curator!!!!!

Well, not much else to report this week. Can't wait to update on the progress of bot the Alpha and the Beta team's Kara runs this week. Hopefully, Alpha team will get their tank back soon!!

So remember, if you're not signed up for Beta team yet, hit the calendar and get in there!! We want everyone to have fun and we'll work on getting you in Kara if that's what you want to do!!

Happy Hunting!

Last Call - New Structure

Well, been a while since I updated.

Lots of changes going on around LC. Looks like we finally have the new raid structure in place. We have formed both Alpha and Beta teams. The Alpha team's main goal will be to work as quickly as possible to get completely through Kara and put it on farm. This group is going to consist of:

Tanks:
Ythane - OMG, Kyn has a tank side!
Gaulder - You did what? FURY?!?

Healers:
Kalyanna
Thor - Eman found his calling

DPS:
Sedge - Yeah, yeah I know, bringing the crazy drunk gnome is going to be scary
Vorc - Our newest guild member with some greet DPS in Shadowpriest form
Serennya - Who stole Sere, this can not be the same little rogue..all grown up
Shaniquah - >.> Yep, this will be fun!!
Flirt - Can't blizzard stop changing your name, I don’t' know who you are anymore!
Durkan - Grats on 70 Durk!!

So, that's the Alpha group line up. Beta is going to consist of Bajorn, the wonder tank and his lovely pocket healer, Ty. This dynamic duo has offered to lead our Beta group. They will be running with 7 regular raid members (yet to be determined) and leaving 3 spots to be filled on a week by week basis. Beta will have a much more casual raid schedule and will be more relaxed. They don't have me breathing down their necks to gear, gear, gear....so, much more laid back!

Wow, big changes to the raiding structure. I hope this will help push us forward and get 20 unique members ready and geared so we can move on!! Yay!

So, on to other news - Congrats to our newest level 70s!! Prenna is officially all grown up now!! Pilk is our newest level 70 druid tank in training! Congrats to you both and anyone else that may have leveled since my last posting.

I am so excited about our progression and all the dedication that you guys are showing in getting ready for our raid runs.

I am also excited to move forward with the new officer structure that should be taking place soon. This will give us the addition of 3 raid/class officers as well as a new event coordinator to get us going on some fun non-raid stuff.

Can't wait to update again soon on the status and progression of both Beta and Alpha teams.

Until then, Happy Hunting!! ~Kaly

Last Call - Bugged Kara and other sad news

Warning: Material contained in this blog posting may not be suitable for emotional views.

Where to even start. We had our first bad Kara run last Friday night. Not for lack of trying but because our Kara instance was bugged. Mobs coming through walls, respawning on top of you, shackles that would NOT hold...just wasn't a good run at all. Sadly, that was only the start of a rough weekend for LC.

We seemed to break our own rules this weekend...no drama, have fun, be helpful...yada yada yada. Yep, they were all pretty much broken this weekend. Unfortunately causing us to loose at least one great member. It is with a very heavy heart that I have to say we lost one of the best tanks and nicest guys I've met. *sigh* But on another note, I do wish him the best of luck and hope that he finds all he is looking for.

It also brings to light the fact that we have to be what we preach. Each and every member has to be willing to help or we as a group can't be what we claim we are. Be drama free, helpful, fun...those are all the traits we built LC on and those are the traits I want us to have and to display at all times. We can't expect to take help/advise and not be willing to give it in return. LC has always been full of active people, wanting to run instances and heroics, wanting to offer their help to guild members that needed it, always cutting up and having a good time together....what happened to this? We have a great group of people, each one offering something new to the guild. We just have to take that and grow with it. Help each other; remember what we built this guild on. *steps off her soap box*

Good news to break up the bad -
Congrats to all our members that hit 70 this weekend! Good job guys!

Until next week and hopefully better news,
~Kaly

Last Call - Members, meetings and more

I'm posting again before my normal updates but I just couldn't believe this myself.
We have offically hit 100 members!

This still blows my mind. Starting with only 12 and now we're at 100. Wow, all I can say is good job guys! Keep up the good work.

Welcome to all our new members, we are very glad you are joining our little, guess I can't say that anymore, crazy group!

Well, with this being said, it's time for me to take a close look at our officers and start looking for some Class Officers. Guess I should have been a little more prepared for this day but I didn't expect to grow so quickly. However, with the number of members we have, its in the best interest of the group for me to get our structure set up more effectivily. I've been putting a lot of thought into class officers so this should be fun. I'll let everyone know the results of this after the officers meeting on Sunday.

But anywho, just a shot note I know but I wanted to update on the accomplishement we have made a guild.

On to Kara tonight, I'll update on this next week! Have a great weekend guys and I'll see you in game!

Last Call - New Members/Wolf Nightmare

Well it's another week down and yet another trip to Kara.

I think each time we walk in that place we come out with a new member or two. Line up for this trip:
Doompallyz - Again our MT and tour guide for Friday night
Gaulder - our tank in training
Kalyanna - "yay, no shackles for me this week!"
Darkmoonn - my new evil twin! "Yes Dark, nipple is your target"
Shaniquah - "you have REAL girls?" (newest LC member!)
Reyfantasma/Whiteeagle - No Ben, dying is not hawt! and keep your bird out of my face! Imerald - Shadow priests should NOT do that much damage!
Serennya - Let’s try NOT to pull the audience next time!
Somebody somebody - Ok so I can't remember them all without screen shots!!

So, exactly how many times did we attempt to down that damn wolf? Who knows I lost track after the second or third try. I honestly think we had more fun laughing at this even then we did the entire night. We were able to finally down the stupid thing on Saturday night. We lost a couple of people for the continuation run but picked up Shurt, Kuriuss, Sedge and Rav. Maybe they were the good luck charms that got us through that fight. Saturday night we did make it to Curator but were not able to down him this time. Guess we were missing Kyn's amazing ability to kill the sparks. Oh well.

We have picked up some great new members, welcome to Shaniquah and Vezz, we are glad to have you both!! That brings out total member count over 80!! Wow, that's worth celebrating!! So glad to see that Sedge is back. Hopefully, this weekend we can get a full guild run of Kara! I'd love to actually say we down a few bosses after Curator!!

So, it seems we are seeing a little interest from some members wanting to do Molten Core. Think we'll try adding this to the calendar and see how many takers we have on this one. It would allow for some of our up and coming members get into a few more guild events!

I am totally amazed at how much fun this group has together. Vent has to be one of the funniest places to be. Listening to all these guys definantly makes raiding and dailies and questing much more interesting!! Well, until next time, happy hunting guys!!

Last Call - Wow, we did what?

Wow, what a weekend!

Our first Kara run went even better than I could have hoped. It started off a little rough. Due to some real life events we were down an off tank and two dps classes before we even got in the door. However, with a little luck and some great PUGs, we were able to get started. In total we had;
Kynthia - Cute little angry gnome did well with watching her aggro!
Jun - The amazing healing tree
Doompallyz - Our main tank and wonderful tour guide for the evening!
Carnifreak - poor guy had to listen to Kyn whine because he was out dpsing her!
Serennya - the Undergeared wonder!
Kuriuss - Boomkin!! yay
Kalyanna - "you want me to shackle what?" ::Kalyanna dies:: "oh, that one, oops"
Imoza - PUG mage
Whiteeagle - PUG hunter who is now a wonderful new guild member and apparently everyones favorite to pick on!
Judicae - PUG Pally (OT)

With the lack of CC we were pretty certain we would only get a couple bosses in and would have to give up. To our surprise, we got as far as downing Curator!! That was a major accomplishment for us as a group. The better news? We probably could have gone further if we had more time. Due to the late hour and people falling asleep we decided to stop there.

I am very excited and extremely proud of all our guildies for working so hard to get ready for this event. Hopefully, the interest will continue to show and we can get on a normal raiding schedule in the next week or so. There were some wonderful drops during our Kara run, and I'm not just saying that because they were mainly healer drops either! I did by some lucky rolls end up with some great gear.

All in all, this night was great, a ton of fun and I can't wait to do it all again! Hopefully, we'll have some more people available and make a full guild run next time!!

Last Call - Excitement in the Air

Well, here we are 3 days before our first Kara attempt. I'm so excited I can't stand it. Made my third run though Kara last Sunday and got a nice drop, now I can't wait to get the guild in there as a group! We've gained a few great new members! Welcome to Doom, Carni, Reg and the wonderful little shadow priest, who's name escapes me at the moment. We are growing by leaps and bounds. Our numbers are up to 75 with 19 level 70s! I'm also very happy to welcome our newest guild officer, Prenna. Her dedication and determination is more than amazing. Thanks to her and Durkan, we now have VENT and are enjoying actual conversations. It's a good thing we can't wear it out, we sure are using it enough!

It's funny to see all the new *friendships* building within our group. Kinda makes you wonder if some of them aren't more than just that! hehe. I'm glad to report that with the exception of a few small instances we are still doing really well at keeping the drama out! Our guild profession members are working extra hard to gather the patterns and items that our members are needing as well.

So, all in all, it looks like Last Call, is still moving forward. Can't wait to post next week about the progress of our Kara run!

Last Call - A New Beginning

Wow, who would have thought that LC would grow as quickly as it has? We opened LC less than 4 months ago with the hopes of forming a group of friends together with common goals and look where we are now. Nearly 60 members and going strong. I can't believe we have as many active, fun, caring and dedicate people as we do. It's nice to see that we all share the same common ideas - Keep the game fun and keep the drama out! All of our founding members are still there and we've formed strong bonds between us all. All of us with histories together going back much further than our starting days in previous guilds. It's funny to think back to the days when it was normal to log on and only find 1 or 2 other people online. It's seems nothing unusual now to log on and find 10 - 15 people! We have welcomed many new and great people into the mix over the last few weeks. Each one bringing something new to the group and bringing us one step closer to being where we all want to go.

Seems we are trying new things all the time. We are a brave group of adventures to say the least. Charging boldly into Azshara, on one very late Friday night, came 16 eager (if not crazy) individuals, ranging in level from 40 - 70, prepared to down Azurego the Dragon. Some wanting to relive the memory of days gone by, others wanting to experience the adventures that were pre-BC. After a many jokes, some crazy vent talking and a few naked gnome dances we put ourselves to work and eventually downed that evil beast. Some adventurers walked away with nice prizes to show for the victory, the rest of us content with smile and lots of fond memories. The photos of our victory now showing on the gallery page!

We finally have our first Kara run scheduled! This is exciting for us all to be raiding as a group instead of in our own individual pugs. I'll update soon with the outcome of this well anticipated event! Happy hunting to all my guildies and keep up the good work!!
